El domingo pasado, iniciamos saludándonos y moviéndonos mientras llegaban tod@s l@s niños en la lluvia. La primera actividad del día era el ensayo de la presentación de los títeres que van a hacer al final del taller en noviembre. Prepararon su presentación- los jugadores en sus posiciones, las porristas cantando la porra y los locutores comentando el partido emocionante entre dos equipos. Creamos un canto nuestro de "Olé, olé, olé" pero con nuevas palabras para cantar durante el partido. Al final tod@s van bailando por la cancha, orgullos@s del buen partido y su buen trabajo. Después de ensayar la presentación seguimos con otras actividades para movernos y calentarnos un poco con la pelota.

El ejercicio les hizo a l@s niños aún más list@s para la merienda. Mientras comían escucharon una presentación (gracias a la familia de Hannah) sobre México y su experiencia en la Copa Mundial. Aprendimos sobre los diferentes estadios nacionales de México, los resultados de las dos Copas Mundiales en México, y de las mascotas diferentes de las Copas: "Juanito" y "Pique".

 En la segunda hora, l@s niños que no habían hecho su títere fueron a crear sus muñecos mientras l@s demás hicieron otro proyecto de arte. Usaron su imaginación para dibujarse ell@s mism@s como futbolist@s vestid@s de uniformes de colores muy vivos y zapatos, list@s para jugar. Terminamos el día con unos jueguitos más enfocados en el trabajo en equipo- ¡algo muy importante en el fútbol!

Last Sunday, we began by greeting each other and moving around a bit while the children arrived, running from the rain. Our first activity of the day was to practice the puppet show that the kids will do at the end of the workshop in November. They prepared their presentation- the players in their positions, the cheerleaders singing their cheers, and the commentators commenting on the exciting game between the two teams. We even created our own "Olé, olé, olé" song but with new words to chant during the game. At the end of the show, everyone dances around the field, proud of the game and their good work. After practicing for the puppet show presentation, we continued with a few more activities with the ball to get us moving and warmed up.

The exercise made the children even more ready for the snack! While they ate, we all listened to a presentation (thanks to Hannah's family) about Mexico and their experience in the World Cup. We learned about the different national stadiums in Mexico, the results of the two World Cups held in Mexico, and the two mascots for these games: "Juanito" and "Pique".

In the second hour, the children that had not yet made a puppet went to make their own creations while the rest did another fun art project. They used their imaginations to draw themselves as soccer players fitted with colorful uniforms and shoes, and ready to play. We finished the day with a few more games focused on teamwork- something very important in soccer!
