Sesion Final!

(English text below)

Felicidades!

This week we held the last session for the "Sueños digitales" workshop. Although we´re sad not to see the kids again until the Fall, we were delighted with the chance to work and learn with them all through these eight weeks.
This Sunday we worked again with Hummingbird, this time to create small robots that could respond and react to stimuli.

Working in small groups, the kids designed their robots, painted and decorated them, and then created a program to have the robots do what they wanted them to.

One robot responded to approaching objects, generating a sound that said "alert, alert". Another took the shape of a bird and said "peep, peep". A third one was created with plastic knives as arms, and moved threateningly to destroy everything that got in its way. All of their robots also generated lights in response.

They were all great displays of creativity on the part of the kids, who had the chance to share their creations with other kids and their own families.

As we traditionally do in our workshops, we closed with an informal ceremony to acknowledge the kid's work and give them a certificate and a small present. We took the opportunity also to thank and recognize the work of the wonderful volunteers and our masterful instructors. We also thanked Sprout and Remake Learning for their support in making this workshop possible. We thank them also for this woderful article featuring our workshop.

We hope you all have a great summer and that you find opportunities to keep learning and practicing with this new knowledge, hopefully in Spanish!
Congratulations!
