5. Olivia y el fantasma

L@s niñ@s llegaron al Círculo emocionad@s. Trajeron sus disfraces para la película que van a producir al fin de la sesión. Pero, antes de la película, empezamos con el rompehielos donde encontramos una pareja y creamos un apretón de manos de cuatro pasos. Practicamos nuestros apretones de manos creativos y disfrutamos de música alegre en el fondo. Siguiendo el rompehielos, nos sentamos en un círculo y compartimos nuestras ideas de disfraces para Halloween. La mayoría de los niños tuvieron ideas buenísimas para sus disfraces de Halloween. Algun@s voluntari@s estuvieron indecis@s, pero afortunadamente, l@s niñ@s aportaron ideas de disfraces.

Después de que compartimos ideas de disfraces, dos niñas leyeron un cuento para el resto del grupo.
El cuento se llama Olivia y el fantasma. Tod@s prestaron atención todo el tiempo y preguntaron sobre el fantasma misterioso.

Después de la merienda, l@s niñ@s se prepararon para producir la película. Algun@s crearon máscaras, mientras otr@s decidieron usar pintura de la cara. L@s voluntari@s les ayudaron a escribir guías para la película. Un@ de l@s niñ@s hizo nenúfares para la escenografía de la película.

Tan pronto terminaron sus preparaciones, empezaron a producir la película. Empezamos en la sala y después afuera. A l@s niñ@s les encantó usar parte de campus de la universidad en su película. Tod@s trabajaron mucho y muy bien para producir la película con mucho éxito.

The kids came to today’s session with excitement as they brought their costumes with them for the movie they were going to put together at the end of the day. Before the production, we began with an icebreaker where we got into pairs and created four-step handshakes. We practiced our creative handshakes as we enjoyed some upbeat music in the background. Following the icebreaker, we sat in a circle and shared our costume ideas for Halloween. Most of the kids had a pretty good idea of what they were going to dress up as for Halloween. Some of the volunteers were unsure, but luckily the kids were helpful in brainstorming some ideas for costumes. After sharing costume ideas, two students read a story out loud to the rest of the group. The story was called Olivia y el fantasma. All of the kids were engaged the entire time and asked lots of questions about the mysterious fantasma.




After our snack break, the students prepared to film the movie. Some kids were cutting out masks while others decided to use face paint. Volunteers helped the kids write out scripts for the movie. One of the kids even cut out lily pads as part of the movie set. As soon as the kids got all of their costumes, scripts, and props together, they started filming. We began filming in the classroom and eventually took it outside. The kids loved using part of the Carnegie Mellon campus in their film.

The kids and volunteers worked hard to put together a successful film today.
