El domingo anterior tuvimos una muy interesante sesión sobre nutrición y salud dental con especialistas en el tema que trabajan en nuestra comunidad, Jesabel Rivera (presidenta de LACU y Pitt School of Public Health) y Elsmarie Hormechea (odontóloga). Les enviamos a l@s chic@s dos libros de regalo que tratan sobre esos temas. Esperamos que puedan continuar la conversación en casa y practicar lo aprendido en español. Fue una sesión entretenida e informativa. Gracias a la familia que compartió la saludable merienda, que le dio a l@s chic@s la oportunidad de practicar lo aprendido en el taller sobre nutrición y cuidado de los dientes!

Last Sunday we had a very interesting
session about nutrition and dental health with two specialists from the
community, Jesabel Rivera (president of LACU and Pitt School of Public Health)
and Elsmarie Hormechea (dentist and member of University of PIttsburgh School
of Public Health). We sent the kids with two booklets
related to these topics. We hope you are able to continue the discussion at
home and practice what was learned in Spanish. It was a fun and informative
session. Thanks to the family of two of our workshop attendees for sharing a healthy snack which gave the kids a chance to practice what they had learned about nutrition and caring for our teeth!
PS: the University of Pittsburgh hosts an event next
