The second issue of Nin@s Reporter@s is out! The children received a paper copy to share with their families, but it can also be seen (in full color) here.
This week the children once again had the opportunity to spend much of the time outside, thanks to the wonderful weather. In addition to sharing their stories and opinions about issues related to the environment, and their very original solutions, we had an unexpected and very musical visit: Nelly Juarez, an alumna of the CMU School of Music, whom several of the children already knew from her experience as a teacher of The Circulo workshops, came to visit. They were able to get into their role as reporters and do an interview, excerpts of which will published in the third issue of the paper, which is in preparation. Nelly also played several pieces for them in her French horn, and she invited those who wanted, to try to play a few notes. It was a pleasant surprise to hear the talent (and admire the lungs) of several of our reporters! What a nice experience! Many thanks to Nelly for her generosity and presence.
The homework for Sunday 18 continues the theme of the interviews. The kids will ask a few questions to their parent/s on a topic of their choice and will take some notes (or they can record the interview on audio or video if they like). They will then come to the workshop prepared to share it with fellow reporters and to draw from it to create a note on the computer. Those who wish may bring supporting materials such as photographs or drawings to accompany the note.
